Estelle Jourd
Sorted

Saturday 1 April 2006

Estelle Jourd worked on Whitstable beach for 14 days of the Biennale, sorting the shingle into stripes of the different coloured pebbles, between two groynes. Sorted was a poignant yet futile durational task. At the end of the Biennale the work was left on the beach as the pebbles slowly returned to their more usual form, scattered by the waves and weather.
