Imagine a window here

Monday 31 October – Saturday 5 November 2016

Gallery 1, Horsebridge Arts Centre

Imagine a window here was a research project for Whitstable’s Horsebridge Arts Centre which invited students from the University for the Creative Arts (UCA) to explore the qualities of the building and propose imaginative adaptations to the existing architecture and its use.

The project was led by Stephen Beasley and Steve Fox of Manalo & White architects and will feed into a larger project about the future of the building. Over the course of the week, the students, working in pairs,  were based in the Horsebridge, where they developed ideas with artists Adam Chodzko and Rosa Ainley, producing a series of temporary adaptations which made some of the less well-known parts of the building accessible for the public to explore for one day only.

With students:

Mauricio Rocktaeschel & Darryl Scott, Tom Bull & Alex Catherick, Matt Cooper & George Gibbs, Inga Masliy & Alice Own, Ben Cooper & Stan Bidston-Casey, Noah O’sullivan & Matthew Mackender, Claire Gaertner & Emilia Hunt, Reem Abdelrahim & Marguerite Bliard, Kaja Hayes & Daryl , David Wareham & Callum Bailey, Jasper Buck-Burrows & Max Farnell, Emily Berrington & Hannah Amos, Rosie Varadi & Lucy Gower, Katherine Leigh & Joshua Lane, Rachel Goodfellow & Edwina Deeprose, Megan Hogg & Will French
