Foraging Walk

Join artist Jude Crilly on a coastal foraging excursion between Whitstable and Herne Bay. During the walk we will gather natural materials for a 3-metre tall outdoor totemic sculpture, which features in her WB2018 performance Prose Brut, on Sunday 10 June.

In the performance, the sculpture is designed to attract a mass of seagulls at a specific moment. The main structure is made from natural, biodegradable materials. The gathered material will form the outer skin of the sculpture. This excursion will appeal to those interested in local birdlife and marine ecosystems. The walk will be joined by local bird experts.

This walk is devised to be accessible to people with limited mobility. The walk will end with an artist talk and conversation over tea and confectionary in the Revival Cafe.
