Lucy Gunning’s practice is a direct encounter with space (actual, inner & virtual), and the present moment as a vital gap amid the past and future. She is interested in the implications of being a subject, living in private / personal and public space. She makes installations that juxtapose elements & live events that have a prosaic relation to the performative.

Recent shows include, Plan Un-plan, Stephen Lawrence Gallery, Greenwich University. Against Landscape, Reid Gallery, Glasgow school of Art. Architecture as Metaphor, Griffin Gallery, London. Womenhouse, La Monnaie de Paris, France, Real Estate, The Berman Museum of Art, Ursinus College, Philadephia. [Re]construct, AC collection Exhibition, Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Then for Now, Delfina Foundation, London. She is a Senior Lecturer at Chelsea College of Art, the 2017/18 recipient of the Lorne Trust Scholarship, and is represented by Matt’s Gallery, London.

Helen Robertson’s practice foregrounds the liveness of experience through an articulation of situations/configurations in which our encounter as viewers, participants, bystanders…. is pivotal. The pieces evolve through processual involvement with materials, process, space, bodies, site, context, history…works by other artists, writers, choreographers, architects….

She is part of the curatorial group Outside Architecture and Associate Lecturer in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins and Camberwell College of Arts.
