Whitstable Biennale is in its 14th year and approaching its 8th festival programme in 2016. We commission ambitious and experimental new work by emerging artists, and support artists at a formative time in their career, creating inspiring experiences for audiences. Our innovative learning programme introduces people of all ages and backgrounds to contemporary art.
Our vision for the Biennale includes a growing year-round programme, reaching new audiences, providing additional opportunities for emerging artists, increasing touring and international links, building research and academic partnerships and achieving greater financial stability.
We want the Biennale to become a permanent, sustainable, internationally recognised and respected initiator of an exciting and experimental visual arts programme of film, sound and performance.
Whitstable Biennale is a registered charity and we fundraise to achieve our ambitious targets. Your support can help us to make a real difference to the delivery of our programme, helping us to remain free to the public and have a direct impact on the careers of artists.
“Working with Whitstable Biennale in the production and exhibition of new work has been the most fruitful and supportive experience in my practice so far. I was able to take a bold leap forward in the realisation of my ideas.” Louisa Martin, The Lighthouse, Whitstable Biennale 2014.
