Karen Mirza & Ruth Beale
The Voyage of Nonsuch

Whitstable Museum & Gallery, Oxford Street, Whitstable
Tuesday - Sunday times to be confirmed
The Voyage Nonsuch is a new film, focusing on maritime archives. It has been developed over the last two years, and will include location-shooting, factual and fictional elements, and a narrative script developed from over 10 hours of interviews and recorded discussions gathered during the research phase.
Mirza & Beale work in film and performance, and this is their first collaborative work. Mirza runs no.w.here in London with Brad Butler, which plays an extensive part in curating new film work in the UK, expanding technical support for artists and hosting regular critical debates. Her current projects include an Artangel project, The Museum of Non Participation, September-October 2009. Beale often works participatively, and recent projects include Sisterly Bingo for GSK Contemporary at the Royal Academy of Arts, and Miss B's Salons, regular salons that bring together invited groups of artists and curators together.
The Voyage of Nonsuch has been supported by Arts Council England South East, the British Film Institute, and Whitstable Museum & Gallery.
